Burnie Glacier Chalet
Epic Glacier Skiing at Canada’s Northernmost Ski Lodge
Experience one of the premier ski lodges in BC. Located in spectacular terrain in the Howser Range, near the cool mountain community of Smithers, BC, Burnie Glacier Chalet is one of the best kept secrets out there.
Go Big
This is one of the most iconic ski lodges for a reason. Big, remote terrain with awe-inspiring glacier runs, steep tree skiing and ski mountaineering off summits are all on the menu. We go later in the season to make use of longer days, stable weather and snowpack, and are able to stretch our legs in the massive tenure than the Burnie Glacier Chalet accesses.
With smaller ratio groups, we are able to cater the pace to the group and ensure that everyone goes home feeling like they skied as much as they could.
Ski Hard, Relax in Style
The Burnie Glacier Chalet was built in the early 2000s on the Wet’suwet’en territory, and is a beautiful timber lodge that features running water, solar, limited internet and a cedar sauna.
You will not go hungry, with an amazing chef providing all the meals, and you’ll sleep well at night in double-occupancy or shared rooms.
Itinerary: (Itineraries the same for both ski weeks)
March 28/April 4: Fly into Smithers, BC the night before your trip. We provide a shuttle service between the airport and the hotel, and then back to the heli-pad the following morning.
March 29/April 5: Helicopter into the lodge, unpack, and after refreshing our avalanche skills go out on our first ski tour. Spend the following week waking up early to a hot breakfast, play hard all day long (or for part of the day for those who’d like a break), and then come back for apres, sauna, and another delicious meal before doing it all over again.
April 5/April 12: Pack up, go for a short tour near the hut if there is time, and helicopter back to Smithers by 2pm, early enough to make an evening flight back out.
